The Gästehaus Haidacher was built in the 1950s on the foundations of a
simple farmstead. From 1960, bed and breakfast was offered by the
proprietors Christian and Anna Haidacher during winter and summer seasons
together with great Tyrolean hospitality. In his young days, landlord
Christian “Christa” Haidacher climbed hundreds of mountains both in the
Kitzbühel Alps as well as abroad and was a professional ski instructor for
more than 75 years, teaching his pupils how to best steer their two skis. He
passed on the skiing tradition to his daughter Anita who in early years
became a fervent skier and racer. She won a number of national and
international competitions. Her greatest success was the bronze medal in
downhill at the Universiade Student World Championships in Lake Placid in
1972. |
